Fr. Zargarian graduated from the Kevorkian Seminary of the Holy See of Etchmiadzin, Armenia, in 1989.

He was invited to serve in the Armenian Apostolic Church in Canada and was ordained as priest in 1992 and assumed the duty of Parish Priest at the St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Cathedral in Montreal.

Fr. Zargarian was transferred to Ontario in 1996 and was appointed Parish Priest of Holy Trinity Armenian Church of Toronto. 

In 2007, Fr. Zargarian received his Master of Theological Studies degree from the St. Augustine Catholic Seminary, University of Toronto.

Since 1998, he has been a member of the Governing Board of the Canadian Council of Churches, Eastern and Oriental Orthodox Council of Churches, Toronto Council of Churches, and the Ontario Multi-Faith Council. Fr. Zargarian has maintained close relationships with the Federal, Provincial, and Municipal Government bodies as an exemplary representative of the Armenian Church. Fr. Zargarian speaks Armenian, English, Russian, and French.

In 2016 Fr. Zargarian was appointed Vicar of the Armenian Church Diocese of Canada by His Grace Bishop Abgar Hovakimian, Primate.

Fr. Zargarian and his wife Naira Samvelian have three sons.
